Iowa Paint Manufacturing Co., Des Moines, Iowa (1973-78)

 

    Chief Financial Officer for integrated regional manufacturer and distributor of paint and allied products. Provided urgently needed technical expertise and personal leadership to establish and modernize management controls for this long-established company which had been buffeted by management change, unprecedented competitive changes in its consolidating industry and the rampant energy price inflation of the early 1970s. Involved in all aspects of general and financial management, with particular responsibilities for financial controls and corporate acquisition program.

 

Mid-America Foods, Inc., Humboldt, Iowa (1968-73)

 

    Chief Financial Officer in management team which established new company. Raised over $5 million in debt and equity to establish the world's largest fully-integrated single-site egg production and processing complex which was a highly profitable concern.  This enterprise began Iowa’s progress toward becoming the nation’s egg production leader.
